The current state and prospects of global research in the field of intelligent railway transport
Abstract
The article provides an overview of the key projects presented at the international exhibition of transport technologies InnoTrans, held in Berlin from 24 to 27 September 2024. The forum featured cutting-edge developments in the railway industry, including electrification, digitalization, sustainable development, and artificial intelligence (AI). AI has confirmed its status as a key driver of the digital transformation of the railway industry. Leading market players presented comprehensive AI solutions aimed at improving the safety, efficiency and environmental friendliness of transport systems. A special emphasis was placed on predictive analytics. Significant progress is being made in the field of automated infrastructure monitoring. Special attention is paid to the issues of data standardization and compatibility of solutions. Robotic systems are beginning to play an important role in ensuring the sustainability of rail transport. The key directions of development of the railway industry in the field of automation, robotics and technical vision in the near and medium term are discussed.
