ASSESSMENT OF THE RISKS OF THE TRACK FACILITIES FOR THE TRAFFIC SAFETY OF RUSSIAN RAILWAYS
EDN: CJJOIG
Abstract
A factor analysis of risk factors and the severity of their consequences indicates that one of the most problematic structural units in Russian Railways is the track facilities of railway transport. For example, in 2021 11 traffic accidents (10 crashes and 1 accident) were allowed on the infrastructure of the railway transport of the Russian Federation, of which 5 crashes (45%) were due to a violation of the technology for the maintenance and repairs of the railway track. It has been established that the highest degree of risk factor for track facilities is characterized by the value of missed tonnage or service life in years, as well as by a single exit of defective (sharply defective) rails. Additional criteria influencing the increase in risk factors in the field of traffic safety in the track facilities are the excess number of defective fasteners and unusable sleepers, the excess length of the track with polluted ballast and the length of track sections with splashes, and other malfunctions.
