OVERVIEW OF GEODETIC PROJECTIONS USED TO CREATE THE COORDINATE BASIS FOR THE SPATIAL DESCRIPTION OF RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE OBJECTS

EDN: YGEORM

Abstract

The article describes the methods of projecting the Earth's surface onto a plane and the rules for establishing the relationship (correspondence) between the geodetic coordinates of the points of the Earth's ellipsoid and the rectangular coordinates of the same points on the plane. The equiangular projections used to solve geodesic problems on the plane are considered in detail: the Gauss-Kruger projection, the universal Mercator UTM projection, the equiangular conic Lambert projection.
